Classical South India Tour taking you around popular tourist destinations in peninsular India - Karnataka, very popular tourist location Goa and Mumbai.
Day 01: Arrive Bangalore Meet and greet at the airport by Carmel representative and transfer to hotel. On arrival check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Bangalore/Mysore ( 140 kms – 4 hours) Morning after having breakfast half day tour of Bangalore, visit Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, a two-story ornately carved building. Also visit Lalbagh Botanical Gardens originally laid out in 1760 by Haidar Ali and later expanded by Tipu Sultan. Driver past Vidhan Soudha a spectacular post Independence government building which houses both the State Legislature and Secretariat. Afternoon driver to Mysore, en-route brief stop at Srirangapatnam, an easily fortified island site in the Kaveri River. The fort, originally built under the Vijayanagar kings in 1454, was later to come under the control of Haider Ali and then his son, Tipu Sultan, in the 18th Century. continue drive to Mysore. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Mysore After breakfast proceed for full day city tour of Mysore Palace Mysore Palace Mysore include the colourful vegetable and flower markets in Mysore, Chamundi Hill to view the Chamundeswari Temple and the famous Nandi Bull. The City Palace was re-built by Henry Irwin in 1897 after the original wooden palace was destroyed in a fire. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Mysore – Coorg ( 110 Kms/3 hrs) Morning driver drive to Coorg. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Later enjoy the guided tour of the 300 acre working coffee and spice plantation on foot. Overnight at the resort.
Day 05: Coorg Enjoy visit to Dubare Elephant Camp, learn all about the birds and the beasts, and understand how each tree has a story to tell. Listen to jungle lore under a canopy of multi-hued green, and come back with a greater knowledge of the forest system and a higher sensitivity to the eco system. Later, enjoy Coracles are local fishing crafts that are circular and ideal for navigating these waters. Overnight at the resort
Day 06: Coorg – Hassan ( 120 Kms/3 hrs) After breakfast drive to Hassan. On arrival at check in to hotel. After lunch proceed to visit the famous Hoysala temples of “Belur & Halebid”. The 12th century temples stands the most beautiful for sculptures when compared to any other temples in south India. Typically these temples are squat & star shaped. Its outstanding sculptures all over the walls and pillars state the stories from the old epics of Ramayana, Mahabharatha & Bhagavath Geetha enabling to know of Hindu culture. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07: Hassan – Hospet ( 310 Kms/ 7 hrs) After breakfast drive to Hospet. On arrival check-in at hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Hospet Morning after breakfast start the day excursion to HAMPI, Hampi Hampi the seat of the famed VIJAYANAGARA Empire was the capital of the largest empire in post-mogul India, covering several states. The ruins of Hampi of the 14th Century lie scattered in about 26 sq. km area, amidst giant boulders and vegetation and silently narrate the story of grandeur splendor and fabulous wealth. Every rock, every path and every monument at Hampi speaks the same language; a language of glory and beauty. By evening return back to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 09: Hospet – Badami ( 140 Kms/3 hours) Morning drive to Badami. Afternoon, proceed for a local sightseeing tour of Badami. The town, formerly known as Vatapi, is located in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka state. Founded by Pulakesin I of the Chalukya dynasty, the town is located at the foot of a red sandstone protrusion that surrounds the Agastya tirtha water reservoir on three sides. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Badami After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of ‘AIHOLE & PATTADAKAL’. ‘Pattadakal’ was the second capital of the mighty Chalukyans and a place that hosted important state functions of the time. It is also a centre of Chalukyan architectural extravaganza. There are many temples here, mostly dating back to 6th and 7th centuries AD. ‘Aihole’ completes the third dimension of Chalukyan architectural centers. This place had an important position during the rule of the Chalukyas. There are a number of richly carved Hindu temples constructed in the 6th and 7th centuries. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Badami – Goa (Surface: 290 Kms/ 7 hours) Morning after breakfast drive to Goa. On arrival check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Goa Day at Leisure on beach or Goa Beach Goa Beach relax at the pool deck of the hotel / spa / massage activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13: Goa Day at leisure on beach or relax at the pool deck of the hotel/ spa / massage activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 14: Goa – Mumbai (Flight) Mumbai Depart In time transfer to airport to connect flight back to Mumbai. On arrival transfer to International airport for flight back home.
