North East India Tour of Assam - highlights of this tour of Assam in north-east India include visit to Buddhist Monastry at Namphake Village, sprwling tea estates in Assam, a ferry to Majuli, assames folk Satriuyya dance, kaziranga national park  home to tigers, elephants and the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses and city tour of Kolkata.

Day 01: Arrive – Delhi Meet and greet at the airport by Carmel Representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Delhi – Dibrugarh (flight) Morning departure transfer to airport for flight to Dibrugarh, the town situated on the banks of River Brahmaputra. On arrival meet and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Dibrugarh After early breakfast drive to Namphake Village (80 kms /2 hour drive). Visit to the Buddhist Monastery, Namphake village is renowned for a beautiful Buddhist monastery. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Dibrugarh – Tinsukia ( 50 kms/2 hrs) After breakfast visit the sprawling lush green tea estates dotted with old world bungalows. During the visit you can see the tea labourers plucking tea leaves, the factories and return to hotel for lunch. Afternoon drive to Tinsukia. On arrival check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05: Tinsukia After breakfast drive to Singpho village. Singpho, one of powerful tribes living in plains and hills of Assam has the glorious story to tell about their deep rooted eco-social and cultural aspects in greater Assamese national life. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: Tinsukia – Jorhat ( 260 kms/5 hrs) Morning after breakfast drive to Jorhat en-route visit Sivasagar. Visit Charadio to see the maidams or graveyards, shiva temple, Rang Ghar etc. Thereafter drive to Jorhat. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Jorhat – Kaziranga ( 120 kms /2 hrs) Morning after breakfast transfer to Nimatighat and then charter ferry to Majuli. Visit Vaishnava Sattras. Later watch Satriuyya dance and evening return by ferry to Nimati Ghat and drive to Kaziranga. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08: Kaziranga Early morning Elephant safari to Kaziranga National park. Return to resort for breakfast followed by two rounds of Jeep safari. Evening Bihu dance. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09: Kaziranga – Guwahati ( 225 kms/5 hrs) After breakfast drive to Guwahati. On arrival check into the hotel. Late afternoon visit to Kamakhya Temple is a famous pilgrimage situated at Guwahati. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Guwahati After breakfast day return excursion to Sualkuchi Village located on the banks of the Brahmaputra. Also visit Hajo villages, an ancient pilgrimage centre for three religions: Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Guwahati – Kolkata(by flight) Morning departure transfer to airport for flight to Kolkata. On arrival meet and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Mother Teresa’s ashram. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12: Kolkata After breakfast city tour of Kolkata with visit to Writers Building, Town Hall, St. John’s Churchyard, Metcalfe Hall. Later visit to the Victoria Memorial which opened in 1921 and Howara Bridge. Overnight at the hotel

Day 13: Kolkata – Delhi(by flight) Morning departure transfer to airport for flight to Delhi. On arrival meet and transfer to hotel. Afternoon tour of Akshardham Temple. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14: Depart Delhi After breakfast transfer to airport to board the flight for your onward destination
